The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Phantom Hourglass

Big news from the world of Nintendo!

On launch day for the Nintendo Wii, there will be two Twilight Princess releases. First, the Wii’s version, obviously a souped up version to test the limits of their graphics processors. AND!!!! A GCN version for those who wish to play it without having to shell out cash for the Wii.
Its gonna be HUGE!

Also, a new upcoming title, The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass for the Nintendo DS!

There are 27 titles so far for the Wii’s Launch Day, which remains a mystery as of right now. For now, here’s a short list of whats coming from Nintendo…

Red Steel (features gun battles and sword battles)
Project H.A.M.M.E.R.
Super Mario Galaxy
Metroid Prime 3: Coruption (very much anticipated)
Disaster: Day of Crisis (little is known about this)

More are on-the-way. But this is just a taste to whet your appetite.

Stay tuned!

The Big Bad Wii

For the fun of it, and because Rama demands it (yeah, slave labor at its finest!), I’m bringing you an update to The Nintendo Revolution. If you’re a bit slow on the uptake, or just lazy, the announcement has been made, and it’s official. The Revolution has been given a name, and it is “Wii”.
Yeah, it’s bad, but what can we say? Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wii for more information, as well as http://revolution.nintendo.com/.

Wii…yes, you say it like “we”. And yes, it rhymes with other words too.

MAGFest Summer Event Planned

From MAGFest.org:

So, we’ve done a lot of talking, and while we haven’t finalized anything yet, we know one thing:

People don’t want to wait a year to rock out again.

So, this summer, we’re looking into holding an outdoor event with many of the same bands you heard at MAGFest, and probably more bands that you didn’t hear at MAGFest!
Entry would be cheap; we don’t want it to interfere with your summer convention plans, if you have any.

What we’re asking now is that anyone that wants to get involved — whether it be planning, playing, or attending — get in touch with us. And of course, feel free to talk about it on the forums.

M4GFest Video!

For all of you who didn’t get to take part in all the AWESOME at MAGFest this year, and for all of us who went and still can’t let go of all those memories we shared (awwww), this video was posted over on the MAGFest forums.

Hey guys. This is Chad_W, I was one of the driving forces behind the MAGfest 2.0 documentary (along with Juese and others from X-Strike Studios).

I’d like to announce that while a full-blown doc wasn’t possible this year, I still shot/borrowed enough to make a two minute run-down of this year’s insanely awesome fest – featuring the music from the super rocking Sprite Slowdown.

It includes such memoriable moments as Virt’s Panel, a few of mv’s many hugs (Shael included), & Devon’s Little Mac cosplay. It also has moments with both Rail and Koala (which I’m sure Shael could probably appreciate), and pictures of D-Lux, pixitricks, (dbl-awww) & Moguta.

VGMix Redesign

“Hello, VGMixers!

“We have totally revamped the front page news display into an actual
news system. You are now able to comment on updates, and quite a few
users will be given the ability to post news articles to the front page
(under the Admins’ guidance, of course) — Turning this effectively
into a pseudo-weblog. Expect to see such things as videogame concerts,
events happening at other sites, gatherings of community members, and
other cool happenings posted here [the VGMix news module].

“I’m also taking this opportunity to announce the next big updates,
which are close to completion (along with many, many small fixes):

“Competition / collaborative project organization: We’ll be able to have
compos and projects as an official, integrated part of the site, with
voting and internal or external hosting all accounted for;

“User-based quality control: Let’s face it, we need to clean house.
Songs extraordinary in either extreme are going to be tagged by
consensus. There will be removals and there will be a panel-like
function, and the full machinery of the “RPG system” is going to grind
to life. Our aim is to avoid stepping on anyone’s toes or spiralling
into cronyism and popularity wars. It’s going to be some exciting
stuff.

“Both things need more testing and fixing-up on my local machine,
then I’ll open it up on our testing server for admins. Once they give
the green light, both systems will go live — And there’s MUCH more to
do after that, too!

“Make sure to comment and tell us what you think, because it
actually does matter. I want us to have a site that people want to use.”

OCR Idol Round 2 Officially Over; AMP = out

Suzu finally took the time to acknowledge the ending of OverClocked ReMix Idol Round 2, and has (as I've been told) e-mailed AMP his official elimination letter. At the end of the poll AMP's song 'Electric Tears'
had the most votes and was thusly eliminated from the competition,
however he is still eligible for the proposed losers' bracket.

OCRI Round 3 continues to progress with the source material as the
Live-A-Live soundtrack. The mixing stage will conclude May 22nd.
