Finally, there’s some action going on over at www.amigaremix.com and it shows by the release of a spanking new design.
Under the hood, some major reconstructions have been done as well, which will show a bit more in the near future.
The possibility to submit new remixes is still disabled but will be re-enabled within the upcoming week.
More info will follow shortly…
CONGRATULATIONS TO PIXIETRICKS AND BIG GIANT CIRCLES! The two are now official OCR judges!
The two prominent remixers, pixietricks and Big Giant Circles, are quite well known. pixietricks, aka Jillian Goldin is currently in her third undergraduate year at the Peabody Conservatory. Big Giant Circles, aka Jimmy Hinson, was recently married a while ago. Congratulations to the two because they deserve it and are very, very good remixers who have set the bar high for incoming OCReMixers (heh, including myself ><).

Saw this on GAF, and I figure this is ABSOLUTELY worth sharing:
Typically, when a video game company has a major announcement, they
might let some press outlets know about it beforehand, but put the
information on embargo. This sometimes involves legally binding NDAs.
But if such an agreement was penned with Seattle PI/The New York Times, they couldn’t care less. They just stole the Wii press event’s thunder and announced the Wii launch details.
The Wii will be released on November 19 in North and South America and
will cost $250 in the United States. 4 million units will be shipped
worldwide, far exceeding the shipments of Sony’s PlayStation 3.
25-30 games will be available for the Wii this year. As many speculated, Wii Sports will be packed in with every system. Super Mario Galaxy, as many also speculated, will not be available until 2007.
Nintendo will make about 30 classic games available for download
via Virtual Console when the Wii is released, including games from the Zelda, Mario, and Donkey Kong franchises. Downloadable games will cost about $5 to $10 each.
The price of retail Wii games will be $50, $10 less than Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 games.
“Our goal is to bring gaming back to the masses,” Reggie Fils-Aime,
president and chief operating officer of Nintendo of America, said in a
telephone interview. “You see that in our pricing, you see that in the
number of units we plan to make available this year and you see that in
how we are positioning the Wii to appeal to every member of the
household, including but not limited to the hard-core gamer.”
A surprise from Nintendo is that they will be including “channels,”
which are meant to appeal to casuals who don’t consider themselves
gamers. A photo channel allows users to use the Wii to display photos
on their TV. There will also be an interactive news channel and a
weather channel.
Additionally, the Wii will come with a built-in web browser, most likely Opera.
“We are including all of these capabilities as part of our overall
strategy to expand the gaming market,” Fils-Aime said. “Broadening the
market is important because it will breathe new life into this
business. Otherwise, this industry is moving down a path of being more
and more limited to the hard-core gamer.”
Lots of Wii news from the Times. The official announcements
will come Thursday at an event in New York City. Prior to that (not
long now) will be a Japanese event.

Here are the songs and results
Formats allowed are mp3/ogg, and music modules [it,s3m,xm,mod].
I
host the CompoSTs personally and also participate. I pick the theme and
regulate the start and end time. I also decide whether the channel
votes on a winner or not [sometimes when I am tired, there is no voting
:)]
Come hang out in #soundtempest, and please let me know if/when you would like to have one.

The Seiken Densetsu 3 project, after recent hacker attacks at its last forums, now has new and beautiful looking forums!
All members are to register immediately if you can. WIPs can be
posted, rated and criticized. Please wait at least a couple days for
Usa or TheDeath to verify you as a member of this project (private
forum sight).
Otherwise to say, this is a huge step for the
project. From my point of view (note: biased), this advances the
project by many steps because of the new way to communicate. Usa and
TheDeath thanks ThaSauce for being an awesome host and website.
From his thread on OCR:
“I just got word from the agent who booked the
October 21st MC F and Optimus Rhyme show at Crash Mansion that, if I
can draw 40 or more people to my show next Thursday, September 21st, at
Fat Baby in New York City, she could give me a shot at opening for the
aformentioned rappers at the aformentioned October 21st performance.
This would be my first weekend show and a signifigant step up in terms
of venue size from the two I will have played previously (Club Midway;
Fat Baby).
SO, if you live in or can travel to New York and know or are 40 people,
PLEASE OH PLEASE come see me next Thursday at Fat Baby, and tell them
you’re there to see me at the door, or they might think you’re there to
see some band with real drums, some band like The Sexy Champions, who
I’m playing before.
In conclusion, get your ass to here:
