GameFuel & Arecibo Radio Present: Stemage’s Marble Madness Release Party

Join Arecibo Radio  for a GameFuel special presentation with Grant “Stemage” Henry for the “Where Good Marbles Go To Die” release party. Grant “Stemage” Henry, the man behind several amazing bands such as Metroid Metal and Yes, Mayhem, is also an accomplished solo artist who has composed for indie games Alpha Squad and Radiant Escape.

Marble Madness highlights seven new tracks featuring various accomplished guests such as Disasterpeace, Kirby Pufocia, and VikingGuitar.  Stemage emphasizes the direction of Marble Madness when he states, “The Marble Madness soundtrack has a lot of variety, and that theme carries over to this album. I’ve actually been calling it a “collection of remixes” instead of an album, but things are really starting to flow together.”

Taking place on June 2nd at 9 PM EST, Marble Madness will be played in full, along with many other surprises, such as the digital release of the album during the show itself. And if you haven’t tuned into GameFuel,  you’re in for a treat. GameFuel is a game-centric show of hard-hitting music, particularly of the videogame and videogame-inspired variety, also featuring chiptunes and other original works every week, hosted by the ever exuberant KyleJCrb. Be sure to tune in to Arecibo Radio this Saturday for an exclusive listen to what may very well be an awesome album.

Nerdapalooza 2012 Lives On, Dates & Location Announced

Nerdapalooza’s head honcho John “hex” Carter has just announced on the official website that the festival will be making a bigger and better comeback than ever before for 2012! Nerdapalooza 2012 will take place on the weekend of August 3rd to 5th at The Social and the Beacham in downtown Orlando, Florida. Both venues will be much larger than previous Nerdapalooza locations; The Beacham will act as the primary stage, holding over 1,200 attendees while The Social will act as this year’s secondary stage that will hold around 500 people. The line-up for Orlando’s biggest nerd festival is also looking amazing as Metroid Metal, Danimal Cannon, brentalfloss, the OneUps, and Random Encounter will be returning once again to rock your world, while other performances will be announced soon.

Touted as a ‘brand new experience’, the festival will be sure to please those who plan to return this year. The Friday Pre-Party is also coming back as a free event with live performances and free food & beer at the Social, with the main performances occurring at the Beacham starting Saturday, August 4th.  Tickets for admission and announcements for discount hotel prices will also be made public on the Nerdapalooza website within the week, so be sure to check back or head on over to the official website to get your nerd on.

Sound Bytes: Danimal Cannon’s “Roots (IRL Mix)”

Along with his illustrious credentials as the monumental guitarist in not one, but two, of the most popular bands in VGM history, Daniel Behrens has made quite a name for himself. This reputation may be punctuated by the fact that Behrens’ solo work as Danimal Cannon, with his latest album Roots, has taken the VGM community by storm. This may prove one of two things: Danimal Cannon is incredibly talented artist or Danimal Cannon is actually a Norse god sent down by the heavens to teach us the ways of both epic shredding and chiptunes indelibly made into a staunch configuration of a human being. While I would agree with the former, Danimal Cannon’s “Roots (IRL Mix)” may have most acquiesce to the latter. “Roots (IRL Mix)” takes orchestral metal to the next level, proving that Daniel Behrens is indeed a metal Thor incarnate.

Peep his latest song above and let us know what you think. While you can cop Roots for a mere ten dollars, Danimal Cannon’s “Roots (IRL Mix)” is available for free on Bandcamp.
